New Magnaura Circle

came into being on January, 19 2003 with 18 (21) membrs and no financial and material assets.

All costs for the accouchement of the Circle were taken by

Nikolaj Arabadzhov.

 

Veselin Kostov Vasilev

was born in 1949 in Karnobat.

In 1971 he graduated in psychology from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

In 1986 he presented a Doctor’s thesis on the problems of the forming students’ activities system. Now he is an assistant professor in psychology at Plovdiv University “Paisij Hilendarski”. For decades he was invited a lecturer in lots of higher institutions in Bulgaria, as well as in the institutes for educational qualification.

Veselin Vasilev published (home and abroad) over 80 scientific works (monographs, textbooks, studies, articles) in practically each branch of psychology – general psychology, pedagogical psychology, age psychology, psychology of management, sports, military and social psychology. He took part in many national, European and international scientific congresses and conferences.

He was a junior champion of the republic a national athlete.



Dimiter Ignatov Gribachev

was born in 1932 in the village of Borovo, Plovdiv County.

He graduated in economy, receiving a Master’s degree. Initially he worked in the field of the applied economy, and then in 1966 he started a pedagogical career at Plovdiv University “Paisij Hilendarski”. In 1977 Dimitar Gribachev received a Doctor of economics degree, in 1980 he became an assistant professor and in 1988 – a professor in economic theory. Being a high-esteemed expert Dimitar Gribachev is invited to teach in many universities: South-Western University “Neofit Rilski”, Varna Unlimited University “Chernorizets Hrabar”, Technical University in Varna and others.

Dimitar Gribachev is the author of many scientific works and textbooks: "Unemployment in Modern Capitalism" (1971), "High-tech Revolution and the Problems of Employment in Modern Capitalist Countries" (1976), "Economics for the Businessman" (co-author, 1997), as well as his fundamental work “The Failure of Socialism in the 20th Century" (1997, second edition - 1998). Now Dimitar Gribachev works upon the problem of the truths and the fallacies about the Bulgarian undertaker’s spirit through the centuries.



Zhivko Svetlozarov Bratanov

was born in 1977 in Plovdiv.

He is a graduate in music pedagogy and now continues his education in composition at the Art Academy in Plovdiv.

Zhivko is interested in philosophy and the exact sciences. He is a professional chess-player and took part in many tournaments and regional qualifications for world championships. He is a laureate of the “Champion of Bulgaria” Prize (1997) for juniors as well as of the title “International Master”.



Ivan Georgiev Velev

was born in 1949 in Plovdiv.

He graduated in law from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Since 1979 he works as a jurist.

In 1985 Ivan Velev was arrested and sentences for “slanderous statements against the socialist public and political system”. He served his sentence in maximum secure prison conditions.

Ivan Velev has vast interests in different fields: history, philosophy, methodology of science, logic, semantics, religion, cultural sciences, sociology and politics. During his high-school years he loved boxing and trained in the heavy category.



Yordana Hristozova - Mandradzhieva

was born in 1967 in Plovdiv.

She finished German language high-school and then graduated in English philology with a Master’s degree. Jordana passed through series of seminars for the human and particularly the children rights, organized by the European Union and the Flemish Ministry (Belgium), seminars of the “Face to Face with History” Programme (FHAO), the summer courses of the Belgrade University and the Westminster University (Great Britain). Now Jordana is about to receive her Doctor’s degree from the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Yordana Mandradzhieva worked as a high-school psychologist and an English language teacher. Her experience is additionally enriched by her participation in American and European non-governmental projects. She is a collaborator of different pedagogical magazines in Bulgaria. Yordana is a member of the Bulgarian branch of the International Association of the English Language Teachers (IETFL).

She has deep interests in the cultural exchange of transitional societies.



Nikola Borislavov Lautliev

was born in 1949 in Plovdiv. In 1973 he graduated in engineering.

Until 1989 he worked in the railway transport. Between 1992 and 1993 Nikola Lautliev was a collaborator of the General Department of Allianz Francais for Bulgaria. Between 1994 and 1996 he was a chief secretary of the Art Academy in Plovdiv. Since 1996 he works as a free-lance photographer. Moreover since 1999 he works as an academic teacher as well.

In 1984 Nikola Lautliev was awarded the title “Artistic Photographer” and in 1986 he won the “Plovdiv” Award for photography.

Between 1984 and 1989 Nikola Lautliev was the chairman of the Union of the Photographers in Plovdiv. In 1992 he established the “Photographer’s Centre” Foundation. He also was one of the founders of the “Photographer’s Information Centrein Sofia. For 15 years so far he is the initiator and organizer of the traditional autumn photographer‘s exhibitions in Plovdiv.

Nikola Lautliev made numerous exhibitions in Bulgaria, France, Greece, Russia and Slovakia.



Peter Mihajlov Kaukov

was born in 1970 in Plovdiv.

In 1993 he graduated in acting from the Artistic Studio “A”Part”. In 1998 he graduated in acting and in 2000 – in theatre stage production, both from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts.

Between 1993 and 1994 Petar Kaukov worked as an actor in Plovdiv Drama Theatre, and between 1994 and 1999 he joined Sofia Theatre, 199 Theatre, Bulgarian Army Theatre, State Theatre of Satire and at the same time he hosted the morning block of Channel 3 television in Sofia.

Since 1999 he is a Vice-director of Plovdiv Drama Theatre. As a stage producer Petar Kaykov put up the following plays: "The Long Goodbye" (Tennessee Williams), "12th Night" (William Shakespeare), "Bai Ganyo" (Georgi Danailov / based on the novel of Aleko Konstantinov) č "Closer to Earth" (Zhelko Hubach).

Since 2003 Petar Kaukov is the chairman of the board of the Swiss Cultural Programme in Bulgaria.



Stoimen Nikolaev Dobrev

was born in 1977 in Kazanlak.

He finished high-school in a music class. Ever since his school years he showed interest in music folklore and took active part in school folklore ensembles.

In 2003 he graduated in instrumental art (kaval) from the Art Academy in Plovdiv.

Stoimen Dobrev is interested in philosophy, law, and exact sciences. He is inclined to make critical analysis of folklore texts.



Tezdzhan Ismet Mert

was born in 1969 in General-Toshevo.

Upon completing high-school in her home town she became a student in musical pedagogy at the Art Academy in Plovdiv. In 1990 she, together with her family, moved to live in Turkey, where in 1997 she graduated in international relations from the University of Ankara.

Since 1998 Tezdzhan works as an international relations expert at the Industrial Chamber of Kochaeli District. Also, she is a piano and solfeggio teacher ŕnd conductor of the Children’s Choir at the Munisipal Conservatoire of Izmit. Now she completes her music education in Plovdiv.

Tezdzhan Mert has deep interests in history of art, archaeology, Eastern philosophy, languages. Except for Bulgarian, she has good command of Turkish, Russian, English and French. At present she studies Greek.



Chavdar Nedev Marev

was born in 1970 in Plovdiv.

He finished the High-school of Mathematics in Plovdiv as a programmer. In 1996 he graduated in marketing and management from in University of National and World Economy in Sofia.

Upon graduation he consecutively worked as an accountant, shipping agent and insurance agent. During the 1998 - 2000 period Chavdar is a manager of the Insurance Office of “Levski-Spartak” Insurance Company. Since 2000 he is a proprietor of a real estate company and an insurance broker.

Chavdar Marev has deep interests in sports, especially tennis and volleyball.
